Earthquake tremors were felt on Monday in the north-east of Japan's capital Tokyo. The Japanese Meteorological Department said that the earthquake occurred at 10:07 am local time, whose intensity was recorded at 4.8. However, there is no news of loss of life or property due to the earthquake. But, after the tremors, people got scared and came out of their houses and came on the road.
According to the Xinhua news agency, the quake had a depth of 90 kilometers and struck near 36.8 degrees north latitude and 140.8 degrees east longitude in northern Ibaraki prefecture.
The quake was felt as far as central Tokyo, but no tsunami warning was issued by the weather department.
