New Delhi. Information Technology and Electronics Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Friday that his ministry is in touch with the giant technology company Microsoft regarding the global disruption in its services and no impact has been seen on the country's NIC network due to this incident. Vaishnav wrote on the social media platform X that the cause of this technical disruption has been identified and 'updates' have been released to resolve the issue. Vaishnav said, the Ministry of Information Technology and Electronics is in touch with Microsoft and its affiliates regarding the global disruption. The NIC network has not been affected by this.
He said that in this regard, a technical advisory is being issued by CERT-In, the nodal agency for cyber security. CERT-In, a computer emergency response team formed under the Ministry of Information Technology, has issued an advisory on the disruption in Microsoft services due to the 'Crowdstrike update' and called it a 'serious' problem.
The advisory comes amid widespread reports of disruptions being witnessed by Microsoft users globally and disruptions at international airlines, banks and media companies. “It has been reported that Windows hosts related to CrowdStrike Agent Falcon Sensor are experiencing disruptions and Windows crashes due to the recent update. The affected Windows systems are experiencing Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) related to Falcon Sensor. Users across the world are experiencing technical disruptions while downloading the latest 'update' for Microsoft Windows systems,” Cert-In said in its advisory.
