According to the new rule, it is now mandatory to write 'Jhatka' or 'Halal' outside meat shops in Jaipur. This decision has been approved by the Mayor of Greater Municipal Corporation Dr. Saumya Gurjar. This decision was taken during the fourth meeting of the executive committee. Apart from this, meat shops are now banned in residential areas. According to the information, the license of meat shops will be renewed only if the establishment has a commercial lease.

It is worth noting that while the issue of putting nameplates on shops is hot at this time in Uttar Pradesh under the Yogi government, Jaipur has taken an important decision regarding the labelling of 'halal' and 'jhatka' meat. The new government order comes a few days after the Jaipur civic body announced that meat shops running without commercial lease deed in the city will be closed. It was also decided to dispose of the pending lease applications in the Municipal Corporation within a month.

According to the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation, there were constant complaints that the licenses of the shops were obtained for one type of business, but they were being used for completely different purposes. Taking cognizance of these complaints, it has now been made mandatory for the shops to provide information whether they sell 'halal' meat or 'jhatka' meat. Apart from this, it is expected that a survey will be conducted to find out the location of these shops and to what extent they are complying with the rules. The Municipal Corporation is making all the necessary preparations to implement these rules, which will be implemented soon.
