Chhattisgarh NewsRepresentatives of more than two dozen employee-officer and teacher organizations from across the state participated in the meeting of Chhattisgarh Employees-Officers United Front. In this meeting, a demand was made to pay DA to the employees and pensioners of the state from the due date like the Center and to adjust the arrears amount of the previous DA in the GPF account.
Provincial convenor of Chhattisgarh Employees Officers Federation Anil Shukla and president of Mantralya Employees Union Mahendra Singh Rajput said in the joint front meeting that for the last 7 months, employee organizations have demanded the state government to give DA equal to the center. Still, state employees and pensioners are getting 4 percent less DA than central employees.
Employees' resentment
Due to the delay in the announcement of DA, there is anger among four and a half lakh employees and one and a half lakh pensioners of the entire state. All the employee organizations had shown unity in July 2023 and forced the then Bhupesh government to give 9 percent DA and 9 percent HRA. With this unity, the call for struggle has been given again.
In view of the assembly session from July 22, the delegation of the United Front will meet the Chief Minister, Finance Minister and other public representatives and put forward its demands. If the government does not announce DA this month, then a movement will be announced in August.
The unity and fighting spirit of the employee organizations of Chhattisgarh has proved that they can go to any extent to fulfill their demands. It remains to be seen whether the demands of the employees are met in the upcoming assembly session or not.
