Colombo: Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat in the India-Pakistan Asia Cup Women's T20 match. As per the last information, Pakistan scored 27 runs for the loss of two wickets. The match will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
Having won seven of the last eight editions, India enter the tournament in good form. The Indian team led by Harman Preet also won the 2022 tournament in Bangladesh.
India enters the match with a 1-1 draw in the T20 series against South Africa. On the other hand, Pakistan are coming into the match having suffered a 0-3 defeat against England in May.
Earlier, Nepal won the opening match of the Asia Cup Women's T20. In the fight against UAE, they won by six wickets. Batting first, the UAE women scored only 115 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated over. Nepal won by 118 runs for the loss of just 4 wickets in 16.1 overs.
Opener Sanjana Khadka was the top scorer for Nepal who remained unbeaten with 72 runs off 45 balls. Rubina Chhetri (10) is another player who crossed the double figure. Pooja Mahato remained unbeaten with 7 runs. Khushi Sharma scored 36 runs for UAE, who batted first earlier, and their score crossed 100. Kavisha Igodaje scored 22 runs.
Eight teams are competing in the Asia Cup. India, Pakistan, Nepal and UAE teams are in Group A. Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand are in Group B.
