New Delhi. Host Sri Lanka has announced the team for the 3-match T20 series to be played against India. A 16-member team was announced on Tuesday (23 July) for the series starting on 27 July. The team will be led by Charith Asalanka. The Indian team reached Colombo on Monday (22 July) for the Sri Lanka tour. Sri Lankan captain Vanindu Hasaranga resigned from his post after being eliminated in the first round of the ICC T20 World Cup. The team will play with a new captain in this series.
Sri Lanka's team will play against India with a new captain. Star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga resigned from the captaincy post taking responsibility for the poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup. He will be a part of the team as a player in this series. Asalanka has been given the responsibility of captaining the team against India in the T20 series.
