Morna. Police arrested five vicious criminals who spread terror by breaking into houses late at night and stealing and pulling out earrings from women's ears in various villages of the area after injuring them in an encounter. Criminal cases are registered against the arrested criminals in police stations of the district as well as neighbouring districts.
Bhopa police arrested five criminals after injuring them in an encounter on village Baruki road between Wednesday and Thursday midnight. The arrested criminals have been identified as Titu alias Kooda, Anit son of Rakesh residents of village Ferozepur, Akshay son of Jita, Rohit son of Sunny, Bindu son of Tiramal residents of village Yogendra Nagar. Criminal Titu has 25 cases registered against him in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Hapur, Bijnor districts. Akshay has 14 cases, Anit has 10 cases, Bindu has 8 cases and Rohit has 7 cases registered against him.
On July 12, the miscreants had pulled out the earrings from the ears of a woman named Rajkali in Forozpur village and a woman named Usha in Bahupura village. With the help of the video of the thieves captured in the CCTV cameras in Bahupura, the police was engaged in uncovering the incident, when on Wednesday night the police was conducting a checking campaign on the Baruki village road on the information of an informer.
On seeing the police, the suspects tried to escape and opened fire on the police team. The police surrounded the miscreants and fired back in retaliation injuring three miscreants, while two miscreants fled taking advantage of the darkness. The injured were sent to the hospital and the search for the absconding miscreants was started, who were injured and arrested during combing.
The arrested miscreants accepted committing the thefts at the house of Suresh in Baruki village and at the house of Mahavir in Rasulpur on the night of July 10, as well as snatching earrings from the ears of women in Ferozepur and Bahupura. Station in-charge Inspector Vinod Kumar said that cash worth Rs. 1500 and stolen jewellery have been recovered from the arrested accused.
