Ghaziabad. On Thursday night, the miscreant who had looted an old woman in the district's Vasundhara area took out a pistol hidden in the bushes and fired at the police. The police also fired back and caught him. The miscreant got injured after being shot by the police. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. A pistol, cash worth six thousand rupees and an Apache motorcycle have been recovered from his possession. Another accomplice of the miscreant fled.
ACP Indirapuram Swatantra Kumar Singh said that on July 5, two robbers on a motorcycle looted a woman in Vasundhara area and fled. The woman was injured in the incident. The police was searching for the robbers since the incident. Late on Thursday night, the Indirapuram police station team was checking a red Apache motorcycle based on information received with the help of an informer and CCTV footage. Then two youths came on a red Apache motorcycle and on seeing the police, they turned back and started running away.
The police team chased them and caught one of the accused Shadab along with his motorcycle from Hindon bridge Kanawani. Meanwhile, his partner Salman escaped. When Shadab was questioned, he told about the robbery incident that a few days ago he had robbed a chain from a woman in Sector-03 Vasundhara while she was walking on the road. Apart from this, he also confessed to other incidents of Indirapuram police station.
ACP told that during police interrogation he told that he had the pistol with him on the day of robbery, which he told to have hidden in the bushes near Hindon Barrage. On the basis of his information, Indirapuram police station team reached Hindon Barrage to recover the pistol, then the accused stopped the car, went ahead and pointed towards the bush and suddenly took out a pistol hidden in the bush and fired at the police team with the intention to kill them. After which the police team retaliated and the bullet hit the leg of the robber Shadab. He was sent to the hospital for treatment in an injured condition.
He told that Shadab is a resident of Banjara Chowk Veer Abdul Hameed Colony Double Tanki Police Station Vijay Nagar. Eight criminal cases including robbery and kidnapping are registered against him in various police stations. He told the police that his absconding partner is Salman who lives in Veer Abdul Hameed Colony. Together with him, he has committed many robberies and other criminal acts. Police teams have started searching for the absconding Salman.
