Indian players want to come to Pakistan: Hasan Ali
Hasan Ali said that Indian cricketers are eager to tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Talking to Pakistan-based news channel Sama TV, Ali said that if we (Pakistan) are going to play India, they should also come to Pakistan. Many Indian players have said in interviews that they want to play in Pakistan. This does not mean that the team does not want to come. They definitely want to come. But obviously, they have to consider their policies, their country and their board.
Pakistan is ready to play without India
Ali is also optimistic that the tournament will be played without India. Ali said that as the PCB chairman has said that if the Champions Trophy is being hosted by Pakistan, it will be played in Pakistan only. If India does not want to come, then we will play without them. If India does not participate in it, it does not mean that cricket is over. This is not the first time such an issue has been raised.
Team India visited Pakistan in 2008
India last toured Pakistan in the 2008 Asia Cup, which was also the last ICC tournament they hosted. The two countries last clashed in the final of the Champions Trophy in 2017. Pakistan became the champion at that time. Hasan Ali was declared the Player of the Tournament. India did not tour Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023, but the Pakistan team came to India to play the ODI World Cup. The team was eliminated from the league stage itself.
