Delhi. After investigation in UPSC, a crime has been registered against trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar of 2023 batch for making students appear in UPSC exam using fake name, address, phone number and signature. Union Public Service Commission has also issued a show cause notice to Pooja Khedkar in Delhi Crime Branch. The allegations against Pooja Khedkar of appearing in Civil Services Examination 2022 in violation of rules have been preliminarily confirmed.
At present, IAS Pooja Khedkar of 2023 batch of Maharashtra cadre is in the news in the country. Pooja Khedkar, posted for field training in Pune, first came into the news for demanding facilities illegally. After this, controversies have been constantly following her. Apart from installing red and blue lights in a private car, occupying a senior's chamber, a video of her mother threatening a farmer with a gun went viral. In this case, her mother has been arrested and sent to jail by the police. The police has also added the section of attempt to murder.
After the controversies, Pooja was accused of getting the IAS job and getting the exam on the basis of fake disability certificate and fake OBC certificate of non-creamy layer. Pooja also refused to participate in the medical examination conducted by UPSC and submitted the medical report of a private hospital. Now the government is preparing to take action against the doctor who made the medical report. After the report of Pune Collector, the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra transferred Pooja Khedkar from Pune to Washim. After the Washim transfer, Pooja filed a complaint of harassment against Pune Collector Suhas Diwase in Washim police station.
After allegations of getting a job by using fake documents, UPSC has cancelled Pooja Khedkar's field training and has directed her to report to Lal Bahadur Shastri Training Academy in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand by July 23. Apart from this, UPSC has also sought Pooja Khedkar's documents from Maharashtra government for verification.
After investigation, a case has been registered against Pooja Khedkar in Delhi's Crime Branch for appearing in the exam by fraudulent means and grabbing the IAS job by appearing in the exam more than the required number of times using fake OBC non-creamy layer certificate. According to UPSC, Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar took advantage of the exemption given in the exam by unfair means. UPSC investigation has revealed that this trainee IAS officer changed her documents by fraud and appeared in the UPSC exam more times than the prescribed number of attempts.
UPSC has issued a press release stating that UPSC has conducted a thorough investigation in the case of Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar. She tried to hide her identity by changing her name as well as her parents' name, photo, email ID, signature, mobile number and address. In this way, she appeared in the exam more than the limit. UPSC said that we are a constitutional institution and it is our responsibility to follow or get the rules followed.
On the complaint of UPSC, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has registered an FIR against trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar under sections of forgery, fraud, IT and Disability Act.
UPSC has also issued a show cause notice to Pooja Khedkar asking why your candidature in CSE 2022 should not be cancelled and you should not be declared ineligible for any competitive examination or government job in future and be barred from doing so.
