New Delhi. Former Pakistan cricket team cricketer Basit Ali has recently made a big statement about India's dominance in the International Cricket Council (ICC). The former Pakistan legend criticized the BCCI during this time and alleged that India has so much influence in the ICC that it can do whatever it wants and ignore the opinion of the rest of the ICC member countries.
BCCI targeted for India's dominance in ICC
Actually, the Champions Trophy 2025 is to be held in Pakistan in the month of February-March next year. Before this tournament, PCB is in a difficult situation, because the Indian team has clearly refused to tour Pakistan. Considering the political relations between India and Pakistan, BCCI is not in favor of India's tour of Pakistan.
The BCCI has asked the ICC to hold the Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model. Meanwhile, amid the ongoing debate over hosting the Champions Trophy, Pakistani legend Basit Ali criticized the BCCI while talking on his YouTube channel.
Basit said, “5-6 boards jo hain puun hi ke liye woh baat karenge jo Jai Shah bolenge (Those 5-6 boards just do what Jai Shah says). PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has been given a lollipop. Basically, he has been told (by other boards) that after the Champions Trophy, we (Pakistan) should play a bilateral series against India, whether it is in Australia or England, they (other boards) will convince India to play.”
'BCCI has money, so all boards listen to them'
Basit also said in his statement that BCCI has money due to which every board is ready to speak in their favor. He said that if they say that the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan, they will agree. If they say that it will be a hybrid model, then they will also go with it.
This is because when their players play in the IPL, BCCI pays huge amounts of money to their boards, be it the English board, New Zealand board, West Indies board or the Australian board.
