The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is taking a very tough stand against corruption. Under this, Gulab Singh, Forester, Office of Divisional Forest Officer, Sri Amritsar Sahib has been suspended by Finance Commissioner (Forest) Krishan Kumar after an inquiry on the instructions of Forest and Wildlife Conservation Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak.

It is noteworthy that it has come to the notice of the Forest and Wildlife Conservation Department that Gulab Singh, Forester, Office of Forest Divisional Officer, Sri Amritsar Sahib belongs to the general category, but he is working in the department on the basis of a fake certificate of Scheduled Caste. Its investigation was conducted by the Forest Range Officer Sri Muktsar Sahib.
The allegations have been proved in the initial investigation.

On the basis of the allegations, Gulab Singh has been suspended from government service with immediate effect and his headquarters have been made in the post of Divisional Forest Officer, Gurdaspur and a separate regular inquiry has been initiated against him.
