The flash floods that occurred late at night after heavy rains have caused a lot of devastation in many cities of China. China's state television CCTV reported that 8 people were killed while 30 others were still missing due to floods in Xinhua village in Hanyuan county of Sichuan province. Local officials say that the floods occurred at around 2:30 am local time on Saturday, destroying more than 40 houses and affecting 1,254 people of the village.
23 teams were sent for rescue
According to CCTV, 23 rescue teams were dispatched from Ya'an City to help those affected by the floods, and more than 1,500 sets of rescue equipment were also sent. Officials said the Ministry of Emergency Management sent 29 rescue experts and 13 sets of rescue equipment, as well as drones to provide emergency communications.

Meanwhile, a bridge was washed away due to sudden floods in Zhashui County in Shanxi province in northwest China. 31 people went missing in this accident and their search is still on. According to government media, 12 people died in the collapse of the bridge on Friday due to torrential rains.
Due to the collapse of the bridge, some vehicles fell into the Jinqiao river below the bridge. Chinese President Xi Jinping has instructed to carry out every possible rescue and relief work to save the lives and property of the people trapped in the accident.
