The world's pace slowed down due to a fault in Microsoft's server.
The whole world including India is facing a 'digital disaster'. The reason for this is a flaw in Microsoft's software. Microsoft's network system has become dilapidated not only in India but all over the world. It has affected the aviation sector, stock exchange, IT sector, railways, media houses and banking sector. Many airlines have cancelled flights. Many airlines are doing check-in and boarding manually (offline). These include Indigo, SpiceJet and Akasa. Is this due to a cyber attack? How much and which sector has been affected in India? Which country has been affected the most? First let's talk about India…
- Five airlines of the country have reported problems in the booking system. Due to technical glitches, passengers are stranded and troubled at many airports. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad) has issued an advisory for passengers. Sources say that more than 23 flights have had to be cancelled.
- These include IndiGo flights to Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. The airport has said that we are working on a solution to this problem so that passengers face minimum inconvenience.
- The banking sector has been affected all over the world. However, in India, everything is fine in this sector so far. SBI says that everything is fine. The National Payments Corporation of India has said that the country's payment system, including the Unified Payments Interface, has not been affected. HDFC Bank also says that this crisis has had no impact.
- RBI said that there has been a minor problem in the functioning of 10 banks and non-banking financial companies of the country, which is being resolved. Microsoft global outage has affected many brokerages including Motilal Oswal, Edelweiss Mutual Fund, 5Paisa, IIFL Securities and Angel One. Maruti Suzuki has also faced problems due to this.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav says that the IT Ministry is in touch with Microsoft regarding this global crisis. The NIC network is not affected. The reason for this problem has been found out. Updates are being made to correct it.

The outage was first reported in the US late Thursday night when Microsoft services like Azure and 365 crashed. Microsoft 365 Status said in a post on social media platform X that we are working fast to fix this problem. Before understanding the impact of the outage in the US, Australia, New Zealand and other countries, let us see what cybersecurity company CrowdStrike has to say.
- Cyber security company Crowdstrike said that the problem the whole world is facing is nothing like a cyber attack. We are working on removing the flaw. The problem has been detected. It will be fixed soon. This problem has come due to the new update. It has affected Windows based computers and laptops.
- CrowdStrike is working closely with customers impacted by a vulnerability found in a single content update for Windows hosts, CrowdStrike President and CEO George Kurtz tweeted. George Kurtz said this is not a security incident or cyberattack.
Many US airlines canceled flights due to Microsoft cloud outage globally. However, it was later said that the problem in Central America has been resolved. The reason for the outage is said to be the new update of CrowdStrike. It has affected Windows-based desktops and laptops.
In Australia, airlines, telecom, banks and media houses have faced this problem. The situation is similar in New Zealand as well. The acting Prime Minister David Seymour said that our officials are working continuously to deal with this global problem. No incident of cyber attack has been reported.
Cathay Pacific Airways and Hong Kong Disneyland say flights have been affected due to technical problems. Airlines and businesses have been affected across the world. Air services have also been affected in many other countries including Sydney, Netherlands, Berlin. Hundreds of passengers are stranded at airports in many major cities. They are not able to get any information about their flights.
