New Delhi. Due to a global glitch in Microsoft servers on Friday, air services in India and many other countries were affected. During this, flight takeoffs were delayed and people also faced problems in check-in and booking. Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport said that services there were temporarily affected. In a post on X, it said that some services were temporarily affected “due to a global IT problem”.
The country's largest airline IndiGo said that “our systems are currently affected” due to a glitch in Microsoft. It said that during this time there is a problem in accessing booking, check-in and boarding pass. Apart from this, some flights may also be delayed. Budget airline SpiceJet has reported changes in the timings of at least 13 flights. It said that e-services like booking, check-in, and booking management have been affected.
The airlines said, “We have started manual check-in and boarding process at all airports.” All passengers have been asked to reach the airport earlier than usual for travel. Tata Group-owned Air India said that its digital systems were temporarily affected due to which there was a delay. It has advised passengers to plan their travel accordingly.
