New Delhi, July 22 (HS). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, July 23. The Union Budget was finalized on Monday evening, the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament. Earlier, the Economic Survey of the financial year 2023-24 was presented in both the houses of Parliament.
According to the Finance Minister's Office, the Union Budget for the current financial year 2024-25 has been finalised under the leadership of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary, Finance Secretary, Secretaries of other departments of the Ministry and Chief Economic Advisor of the country Dr. V. Anant Nageshwaran were present on this occasion.
Sitharaman is going to create history by presenting the seventh consecutive budget for the financial year 2024-25 in Parliament on Tuesday, July 23. In this way, she will break the record of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. However, the record of presenting the budget the most number of times is still held by Desai.
It is noteworthy that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, July 23 at 11 am. This will be Sitharaman's seventh consecutive budget. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made Sitharaman the first full-time woman Finance Minister of India when he formed the government for the second consecutive time at the Centre in 2019. She has presented six consecutive budgets so far, including an interim one in February this year.
