A few days after 'Animal', the poster of Tripti Dimri's new film 'Bad News' was released. This increased the curiosity. The song 'Tauba Tauba' from 'Bad News' has been making a lot of noise on social media for the last few days. Therefore, the curiosity about the film increased even more. But after watching 'Bad News', I was very disappointed. Due to the 'confusion' of what to actually show – comedy, romance, emotions, the film has completely gone astray. Therefore, after watching 'Bad News', one has to leave the theater with a 'bad mood'.
Story:
If you have watched the trailer of 'Bad News', you must have got an idea of the story. However, if we want to shed light on the story, both Akhil Chaddha (Vicky Kaushal) and Saloni (Tripti Demri) met at a household event. Both get attracted to each other instantly. Later, they became friends, fell in love and got married. But after a few days of marriage, both get divorced due to some reasons. After this, Saloni left for Mussoorie. There she met Gulabbir (Amy Work). Later, things get worse when Saloni gets pregnant after 'messing up' with Gurbir and Akhil the same night. Who is the real father of the child born after the test? Akhil or Gurbir? Such a question stands in front of Saloni. Then there are ups and downs in the story. The predictions made in our mind come true. In the end there is a 'happy ending' and 'Bad News' ends on a happy note.
direction:
The film 'Bad News' is directed by Anand Tiwari. Anand has directed a beautiful musical web series like 'Bandish Bandits'. Apart from this, we have seen him acting in 'Go Goa Gone' and many advertisements. It is a big disappointment that Anand chose such a subject in Bollywood. Anand could not show such a great performance even in direction. The film progresses in a monotonous manner. The attempt of comedy through background music fails. The jokes in the film are nothing new as they have already been seen in the trailer. However, the songs and their choreography are good.
Acting:
Thanks to Vicky Kaushal for watching the entire film till the end. Vicky has played the simple role of Akhil very well. Vicky's study and preparation for this role is evident. Vicky does something in ordinary situations that brings a smile on the face of the audience. Tripti, who played a small role in 'Animal', is seen here as a 'decorative doll'. She has acted well. Her comic timing is also good. But Tripti, who has done films like 'Kala', 'Bulbul', can be expected to be seen in better and meaningful roles. Amy Virk has played the character of Gulbir honestly. But there should have been some other effective actor in his place. Because during the scene between Vicky and Amy, Vicky completely leaves Amy behind in acting.
In this way, 'Bad News' has become like a bull running to eat fodder. The story is so long that it gets boring in the end. This is not a matter of comparison, but on one hand in the South we are seeing unique films like 'Manjumal Boys', 'Avesham', 'Maharaja'. But on the other hand, Bollywood is still stuck in a typical story like 'Bad News'. Bollywood itself needs to 'move forward'.
