Fastag New Rules: NHMCL, an agency under the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has notified new rules regarding Fastag. If you have a Fastag and you have not put it on the windshield of your vehicle, then you must do so now. Because now if you try to pay toll with a Fastag in your hand, you may have to pay double the toll even if you have a Fastag. NHMCL has now had to take strict action because some users on expressways and greenfield highways are avoiding paying toll by not putting Fastag on the windshield.
NHMCL issued new circular
In view of such cases, NHAI had to take strict action. NHMCL has issued a circular regarding this. In which it is said that if a vehicle enters the Fastag lane, if the tag is not installed on its windshield, then the toll operator will charge double the amount. Also, when double amount is charged, store the vehicles' CCTV footage with clear vehicle registration number. Let us tell you that if the Fastag is installed on the vehicle's windshield, it gets read as soon as the vehicle comes on the toll and the toll tax is deducted. Due to which a crowd of vehicles does not gather at the toll tax. Install the Fastag on the windshield of the car in such a way that it comes on the camera properly.
How does Fastag work?
Fastag is a way to pay toll while passing through toll plazas using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Fastag is a sticker that you stick on the windscreen of your vehicle. This sticker is linked to your bank account or prepaid card. When you approach the toll plaza, the scanner installed there recognizes the Fastag and deducts the toll amount from your account. This payment is done in a few seconds. During this process, you do not need to stop to pay in cash.
