This year's document was released on July 22, a day before the budget announcement. Apart from this, it also provides an account of the coming financial year.
78 lakh people will have to be given jobs
The Economic Survey is first presented in the Lok Sabha and then in the Rajya Sabha during the budget session of Parliament. The survey says that to meet the needs of the growing workforce, the Indian economy needs to create an average of 78.5 lakh jobs annually in the non-agricultural sector by 2030. This means that if the growth of the economy is to be maintained, then an average of 78 lakh people will have to be given employment opportunities every year, so that there will be no decrease in demand and supply and the balance will be maintained.
The growth rate can remain this much
While presenting the Economic Survey, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that this is the Economic Survey of the financial year 2023-24. This survey includes many figures including GDP growth, inflation, employment, fiscal deficit. She said that the country's economy is in a better condition, even when the world is grappling with geopolitical tensions. Giving information, she said that the country's growth rate in the current financial year can be between 6.5 percent to 7 percent. Whereas in the last financial year, the country's growth rate was seen at 8.2 percent. By the way, the estimate given by the government is less than the RBI's estimate of 7.2 percent.
