Muzaffarnagar. Amidst the political turmoil over the instructions to display the name of the owner on the dhabas, shops or carts on the Kanwar route, changes have started at the food shops and dhabas.
Salim was running Sangam Pure Vegetarian Restaurant near Rampuri on Delhi-Dehradun for 25 years. In view of Kanwar Yatra, the police-administration asked the shopkeepers to write their identity, so now the board of Salim Pure Vegetarian Restaurant has been installed here.
Salim has also changed his name in the registration with the Food Safety Department. Such changes have started appearing at all the shops, dhabas and carts on the Kanwar route. Dhaba operator Salim says that he has no objection in revealing his name and identity.
DM Arvind Mallappa Bangari and SSP Abhishek Singh say that Kanwariyas avoid certain food items in their diet. In such a situation, a law and order situation may arise if Kanwariyas get confused. Keeping in view the faith of the devotees, hotel and dhaba operators have been requested to display the name of the owner and the workers. There is nothing wrong in this.
Advocates, Shiv devotees and Dhaba operators agree
Former President of District Bar Association Anil Jindal says that revealing the identity is completely fine and is not illegal in any way. Because this does not hurt anyone's religious sentiments and does not violate anyone's rights.
On the other hand, Gurugram's Kanwariya Himanshu and Palwal resident Sumit, who were heading towards their destination with water on Thursday, have justified this step. They say that during the Kanwar Yatra, no Shiv devotee even eats onion. The name of the person running the hotel and dhaba must be clearly written.
'Identity should be revealed'
Similarly, in Chhapar, Rakesh Kashyap, the operator of Shri Radhe Radhe Vaishno Dhaba and Rishabh Saini alias Gullu, the operator of Shri Krishna Dhaba, say that writing the name is completely correct. Identity must be revealed.
Wasim, the owner of Next Coffee on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, says that we have no objection to revealing the name. When we have not done anything wrong, then why should we object to writing and revealing the name?
'People conspire to corrupt religion by hiding their identity'
Meanwhile, Minister of State with independent charge Kapil Dev Agarwal says that the leaders of opposition parties are unnecessarily blowing the issue out of proportion. People conspire to corrupt religion by hiding their identity. This should not happen in the name of gods and goddesses.
Former MLA of Khatauli and BJP leader Vikram Saini has clearly said that onion and garlic are used in Muslim dhabas and restaurants, while Shiv bhakts avoid it during this time. Owaisi and Akhilesh are doing the politics of appeasement.
