Ballia. The pace of construction of a drain along a main road in the district headquarters has become a topic of discussion. On Friday, Sadar MLA and Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh got angry when the construction was not completed despite payment being made nine years ago. The minister clearly told the officials that accountability should be fixed and action should be ensured.
Actually, the slow progress of drain construction was exposed during a review meeting in the collectorate. Sadar MLA and state Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh was completely strict on the irregularities in the drain construction from NCC crossing to Park-in Hotel. He said that the payment was made in 2015 and the drain construction has not been completed till date. He asked the district magistrate to take cognizance of this and ensure action by fixing accountability of the concerned. Apart from this, he asked for beautification of the 14-acre pond in Maldepur through MNREGA. He also directed for cleaning the Kathal drain, the lifeline of the city.
The minister directed the BSA to give a list of the council schools in the city assembly constituency that do not have boundary walls. I will get it constructed from the MLA fund and CSR fund. The Transport Minister especially told the electricity department officials to take my help wherever needed, but the power supply should be uninterrupted. Problems arise in summer and rainy seasons, but full preparation should be done for it in advance.
