The month of Sawan is known for Shiva Bhakti. In this month, everyone worships Shiva by showing faith to get his blessings. Everyone goes to the temple during these days and does Jalabhishek, Puja-Path and worship of Lord Shiva so that special fruits can be obtained. But during this time it is important to keep some rules in mind. Yes, in the scriptures, some rules have been told about the month of Sawan, if followed, then it proves fruitful for you. Today in this episode we are going to tell you which works you should do during Sawan and which you should not. Let's know…
Do this work in Sawan
– Keeping a fast every Monday in the month of Sawan is considered very auspicious. It is beneficial from a scientific point of view and is also very important from a religious point of view. Keep a fast every Monday of the entire month.
– One should go to Shiva temple and worship daily during the entire month of Sawan.
– People observing fast should chant Mahamrityunjaya Mantra at least 108 times daily.
– Chant the Om Namah Shivaya mantra while worshiping Lord Shiva or while performing Jalabhishek.
– Along with offering Bel leaves to Lord Shiva, prepare Panchamrit of milk, curd, ghee, honey and Ganga water and perform Abhishekam.
– Wearing Rudraksha is considered very auspicious in Hinduism. If you are also thinking of wearing it, then the month of Sawan is the best for this.
– Listen to Sawan Somvar Vrat Katha every Monday. This story is considered to be the complete story of Lord Shiva.
Do not do these things in Sawan
– Avoid consuming milk as much as possible in the month of Sawan. Also, eat satvik food throughout the month to get the blessings of Lord Shiva.
– Consumption of meat, alcohol, onion and garlic should be stopped in this month. Consumption of all these is considered a sin in the month of Sawan.
Always keep in mind that whenever you worship Lord Shiva, do not offer turmeric on Shivling. Turmeric should be offered on Jaladhari. This is because turmeric is a feminine thing. Shivling is related to the male element and it is a symbol of Lord Shiva. That is why turmeric should be offered on Jaladhari and not on Shivling. Jaladhari is related to the female element and it is a symbol of Mother Parvati.
– It is said in religious scriptures that green vegetables should not be eaten in the month of Saavan. This gives special virtuous results. From a health point of view, the amount of bile-increasing elements in greens increases. This is the reason why eating greens in Saavan is considered forbidden.
– It is said that Lord Shiva becomes happy if you meditate on him in the morning during the month of Sawan. Also, sleep as per your need during this month.
– In the month of Sawan, keep in mind that do not insult any elder, Guru, siblings, life partner, parents. Mahadev is not at all happy with such people who insult elders.
– In the month of Sawan, avoid fighting with anyone at home or outside and do not insult anyone even by mistake.
– One should not sleep during the day while fasting because it is considered an insult to Lord Shiva. In such a situation, it would be better if you do not sleep during the day and worship the Lord in the morning and evening.
– Women should not cut their hair and nails while fasting. Also, men should not shave. This is considered inauspicious and brings poverty in the house.
– Those who observe fast should not wear black clothes. This increases negative energy. Also, do not use things made of leather like slippers, belts and bags etc.
– Lord Shiva loved the environment very much, so trees should not be cut during this period. By the way, trees should not be cut not only during Sawan but at any time.
