Varanasi, July 21: Lord Shiva's favourite month of Shravan is starting from Monday. This is a special month for the worship of Mahadev. There are five Mondays in Shravan month from July 22 to August 19. A large number of devotees come from far and wide with Kanwar for the Jalabhishek of Baba in Sawan. The Yogi government has made special arrangements for easy darshan, security and convenience for the devotees in Shravan. On Monday, Maidagin to Godaulia will be a no vehicle zone. Arrangements have been made for the elderly and disabled people to reach the temple by e-rickshaw from both the places. Barricades and zig-zag have been installed till the Dham to reduce the crowd on the roads. CCTV surveillance will be done for the safety and convenience of the devotees. Arrangements have also been made to protect from sun and rain. For the first time this year, entry has also been arranged from Silko gate. A lane has been reserved for Kanwariyas on the Prayagraj to Varanasi National Highway. On Monday, the daily pass will be cancelled and there will be a ban on touching Baba.
Devotees started coming to Kashi with Kanwad
Kanwariyas started coming to Kashi for the darshan of Baba Vishwanath. From late night itself, queues of Shiva devotees started appearing for Baba's Jalabhishek. Yogi government has made all arrangements including security for the devotees of Mahadev. Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, said that the temple and district administration have made full preparations for the convenience of the visitors and smooth darshan in Sawan. He said that Godaulia to Maidagin will be a no vehicle zone on every Monday of Shravan month. The temple administration will operate free e-rickshaws and golf carts for VIPs, elderly, Divyangjan, disabled visitors coming to visit the Dham from both Godaulia and Maidagin to Gate No. 4. A control room has been set up while equipping the entire Dham area with CCTV cameras. All arrangements including devotees will be closely monitored. Barricades have been zig-zag inside the Dham to reduce the crowd on the road. Apart from this, additional sheds have been installed to protect from rain, sun and heat. Arrangements for water and ORS have also been made for the devotees.

The darshan pujan of the sanctum sanctorum will be telecasted live. LEDs have been installed at six places in the Dham. A lost and found center has been set up in the Dham for the convenience of the devotees. Multilingual personnel will be on duty here. Medical personnel have been put on duty in the Dham to deal with emergency situations. Due to heavy crowd on Monday, locker facility will not be available in the temple premises. Devotees have been appealed not to bring bags, mobiles, other electronic devices and banned things when they come for darshan.
