According to the AFP report, this capsule named Sarco was first unveiled in the year 2019 and it easily gives the option of euthanasia. After pressing the button, this capsule removes the oxygen present inside and replaces it with nitrogen, which kills the person inside. The cost of using it is around 20 dollars (about Rs 1,700).
The recently formed 'The Last Resort' group has said that there should be no legal hurdles in starting the use of this capsule in Switzerland. Let us tell you that in Switzerland, if a person harms himself, he gets the legal permission for assisted suicide. The new capsule will prove useful for such people.
Legally, the first requirement is to understand the mental state of the person, after which it will be decided whether he should be allowed to commit suicide or not. After getting permission, he will have to lie down in a purple suicide capsule and close the lid. After this, he will be asked some automated questions, so that it can be decided whether he is going to take the next step in full consciousness.
Finally, it will be said that if you want to commit suicide, then press the button. After pressing the button, the capsule will be filled with nitrogen and the person inside will fall asleep forever. After pressing the button, he will die in less than 30 seconds.
First of all, the person who goes inside the suicide pod is asked what is your name, where do you live, and also asked if you know what will happen to you if you press the button. This is the time when the person is given a chance to think about his decision again. After which, if the person presses the button, the oxygen present in the air will decrease from 21 percent to 0.05 percent in the next 30 seconds and in the next 5 minutes the person will fall into a never-waking sleep. However, it has already been told that once the button is pressed, there is no way to change the decision again.
A Swiss organization, The Last Resort, said that there is no legal restriction on the use of suicide pods in Switzerland, the Swiss law allows people to die in this way. You will be surprised to know that the Chief Executive of Last Resort, Florian Willet, said that we have a queue of people who want to commit suicide with the help of suicide pods, who want to die using this suicide pod. He further said, I cannot think of a better way to die than this.
This suicide pod is not free, you will have to pay for this suicide pod. To use this suicide pod, a person will have to pay 1 lakh 67 thousand rupees. Only after that he can use this pod for suicide.
There is no legal obligation to use this machine, but there are some conditions for using it. The first condition is that the person who uses the suicide pod should be mentally fit. Also, before any person uses the machine, his mental check-up is done, a test is taken, only after which he is allowed to use the suicide pod.
