New Delhi
The controversy over the Yogi government's order to install name plates in the shops on the route of Kanwar Yatra is now increasing and the sparks of this burning issue have also reached the NDA allies of BJP at the central level. Amidst the controversies, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government of Uttarakhand also took the same decision. Due to this, many NDA leaders have criticized this order of the UP government and said that it should be withdrawn. First JDU, then RLD, now Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has also said that he does not agree with this decision of CM Yogi.
In fact, Union Minister Chirag Paswan said that he does not agree with this advice. Let us tell you that the first order regarding the name plate was first issued at the local level by the Muzaffarnagar Police. When the controversy over this increased, the order was changed to advice but then CM Yogi Adityanath adopted an aggressive stance and made it clear that shopkeepers will have to install nameplates. After this, the Uttarakhand government also issued this order like the UP government.
'Such decisions are not acceptable'
Chirag said that it is the responsibility of every government to work for the poor, which includes all sections of the society like Dalits, backward, upper castes and Muslims. Whenever such division takes place in the name of caste or religion, I do not support or encourage it at all. Chirag said that I do not think that any educated youth of my age, irrespective of caste or religion, is affected by such things.
RLD said – the timing of the decision is wrong
On the other hand, RLD has also expressed its displeasure over this decision of the UP and Uttarakhand governments. RLD, which has a strong presence in western UP, said that it will raise its objections to both the central and state governments, of which it is also a part. RLD national secretary Anupam Mishra said that first of all, our party's stand is that if a decision is taken which affects a large section of people, then the government should consider it.
'Will talk to CM and Centre'
Its timing is wrong. As per food safety rules, every eatery has to display its name and details of its products. If it (police order) is to be implemented, it should be divided into vegetarian and non-vegetarian with red or green markings like on food packets… People of different communities live in our country and harmony should be maintained. The RLD leader said that we have a stake in the UP government and our ministers in the UP government will meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and will also discuss the issue with the Centre.
BJP cited last year's decision
BJP, while calling this decision right, said that the same order was applicable last year as well. Former Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan alleged that this order is wrong. Samajwadi Party is trying to promote communal division. He said that the instructions of Muzaffarnagar Police are nothing new, the same orders were applicable last year as well. Additional DGP of Meerut Zone Dhruv Kant Thakur said that the order to display the names of the owners on food shops and roadside carts was implemented last year as well. These orders should be followed to ensure peace and law and order.
Priyanka said the decision was against the constitution
Regarding this controversial advice of the police, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the advice should be withdrawn and demanded action against all the officials behind it. She said that everyone is equal under the law. Priyanka said that the divisive order of putting up name boards on kiosks, shops and carts in UP is against the Constitution, our democracy and our shared heritage.
