Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has given great news to its customers in Himachal Pradesh. The company has started 4G services in Himachal Pradesh, which are completely based on indigenous technology. This technology has been developed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Due to which the problems of network coverage will be solved to a great extent.
Use of indigenous technology
Vipin Kumar Maurya, Senior General Manager of BSNL, Dharamshala, said that 4G services are completely based on indigenous technology. He said that the tower has a base transceiver station (BTS) and there is a core network which controls the BTS. The work of changing the old core network to indigenous core network is going on. This change will improve the quality of the network and provide better services to the customers.
Expansion of 4G service
BSNL tested 4G services in Mandi last week and has started connecting all the towers to the indigenous core network. This service is being implemented under two projects. Under the first project, the network will be made available in those areas where there is no signal of any operator. Under the 4G saturation project, 112 sites are being connected in Chamba and 33 sites in Kangra under this project.
Growing popularity
After the launch of BSNL's 4G services, the popularity of the company is increasing. In the last 15 days, about 6 thousand new mobile customers have joined BSNL. After the increase in tariff by private mobile companies, customers have turned to BSNL. Due to which the company has got a big benefit.
Importance of Core Network
Core network is a group that includes network hardware, devices and software related to telecom services. This group helps in basic services in telecom network such as aggregation, call control, switching, authentication, charging and gateways etc. BSNL's indigenous core network will provide better service and more stability to the customers.
Network problems and solutions
General Manager Maurya said that road widening work is going on in many areas. Due to which the fiber is cut frequently and the network goes down. This problem is more common in areas like Nurpur, Shahpur, Rait, Gaggal, Dalhousie and Chamba due to digging work. BSNL is continuously working to solve this problem so that customers can get better service.
Benefits of 4G service
BSNL's 4G services will provide many benefits to the customers. High speed internet service will not only improve web browsing and downloading but will also improve video calling and online streaming. Apart from this, BSNL's 4G service will also be available in rural and remote areas where the network of other operators is weak.
