New Delhi,
All the IT systems, computers and laptops running on Windows have suddenly shut down on Friday. Many countries around the world including India, Australia, Germany, America, Britain and other countries have been affected due to this. Due to this, the work of most airlines, banks, stock exchanges, foreign rail services and media houses has come to a standstill. The reason behind this is said to be a technical problem in the computer's operating system Windows.
Sky News shuts down
Britain's leading news channel Sky News has also been affected and has been shut down. The broadcaster's executive chairman David Rhodes said on X: “Sky News has been unable to broadcast live TV this morning, at this time we apologise to viewers for the disruption.” A global technical glitch has affected operations in various countries, including Spanish airports, British rail services, a Turkish airline and Australian media and banks.
Australian government called an emergency meeting
In Australia, services of banks, telecommunications, media outlets and airlines have been affected due to this. Australia's National Cyber Security Coordinator said, “There has been a major technical failure affecting many companies and services in Australia this afternoon. The country's national broadcaster, its largest international airport and a major telecommunications company have lodged a complaint in this regard.” Pictures posted online showed large queues at Sydney Airport. Meanwhile, the Australian government has called an emergency meeting.
Emergency 911 services have been disrupted in many parts of the US and due to this fault, non-emergency call centers are also not working. News agency Associated Press is also facing problems. AP said, “Associated Press is currently experiencing an intermittent service disruption that is causing problems in broadcasting news.”
