Monsoon is fully active across the country. Due to heavy rains there is flood like situation in many areas. In the hilly areas, water from above has submerged low-lying areas, while in the plains, rivers have risen, inundating many residential areas.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall and alerts for various states of the country. At the same time, heavy rains are predicted in Odisha over the next four days, as the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has turned into a severe depression.
According to the IMD, at 8:30 am, Awadab was located about 70 km southeast of Puri (Odisha), 130 km from Gopalpur (Odisha) and 130 km from Paradip (Orissa) over the northwest and adjacent west-central Bay of Bengal. Located south-southeast and 240 km east-northeast of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
The situation has worsened after waterlogging in many areas due to heavy rains across Gujarat. Heavy rains have been lashing Junagadh since Friday morning, due to which the entire district has become inundated, disrupting public life. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rain till July 22 in the entire Saurashtra region.
