Edmonton, July 23 (HS). Another Hindu temple has been targeted in Canada. Now BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Edmonton has been vandalized. Hindu American Foundation said that anti-India slogans were seen written on BAPS Swaminarayan temple in the morning. Also, Canadian MP of Indian origin Chandra Arya was attacked.
Nepean Member of Parliament Chandra Arya expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of violence against Hindu-Canadian communities. Arya said on X, “Hindu temple BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton has been vandalised again. For the past few years, there have been vandalism with anti-India slogans in the Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia and other places in Canada.”
In the post, MP Arya pointed to the leniency given to pro-Khalistan extremists. He said, “As I have always said, Khalistani extremists easily escape with their public rhetoric of hatred and violence. I want to say once again, Hindu Canadians are really upset. I again call upon the law enforcement agencies of Canada to take this issue seriously. Before this rhetoric turns into attacks against Hindu Canadians. “
It is noteworthy that last year a Hindu temple in Windsor was vandalized with anti-India graffiti. This was widely condemned.
