Bad Newz starring Bollywood actors Vicky Kaushal, Tripati Dimri and Amy Virk has released in theatres on July 19 (Friday). Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is expected to get good collections at the box office on the first day and will become the first big hit film of 2024.

According to reports, the film is expected to gross over Rs 9 to 10 crore on its opening day while it is likely to gross Rs 30 crore over the weekend.

The film could also prove to be good for B-Town actor Vicky Kaushal, as he has not had a double-digit opening in his 12-year career. So far, the film that gave him the biggest opening was the 2019 military drama Uri – The Surgical Strike. The film earned Rs 8.20 crore on its first day and grossed Rs 245.36 crore during its theatrical run.

Apart from Uri, Vicky Kaushal starred in Sam Bahadur (2023), which opened to Rs 5.75 crore. The Great Indian Family (2023) and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023) earned Rs 1 crore and Rs 5.49 crore respectively on the first day.

So far, the audience is giving the film positive reviews on social media. This makes Bad News look like a strong hit at the box office. Meanwhile, the film currently does not have any strong competition as the audience is almost bored of Kalki 2898 A.D. fever and the other two films currently running, Sarfira and Indian 2, however, have failed to attract the audience at the box office.
