Senior Pakistani actress Azra Mansoor recently shared about actress Mawra Hocane, stating that she pauses a scene to pray and then completes the unfinished scene afterward.
In a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Azra Mansoor discussed the common societal perception that actors, due to their association with dramas and films, are distant from their religion. She emphasized that this is not true.
In response to a question, Azra Mansoor said that the words used for artists, especially those associated with films, are often very inappropriate.
She added, “I’m not saying everyone is religious; we are humans, and humans are prone to error. However, many artists in the industry are genuinely religious and close to their faith.”
Reflecting on her recent drama serial “Jafa,” she mentioned working with Mawra Hocane and Mohib Mirza. She noted that both of them made time to pray during the shoot.
Azra Mansoor expressed her happiness seeing Mawra, who would always prioritize her prayers over the scene if it was prayer time and would return to complete the shoot afterward.
She further mentioned that this was not only on the set of “Jafa” but also during the recording of “Dil Nadan,” where young actresses, including Fajr, adhered to their prayers.
The actress also said, “I fast and work during Ramadan, but the words used for us, especially for film actors, are not right.”
