Mumbai: Actress Ankita Lokhande celebrated Guru Purnima on Sunday by paying an emotional tribute to her mother. Actress Ankita Lokhande is known for her roles in 'Pavitra Rishta' and 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. Ankita was also seen in Colors channel's reality show 'Bigg Boss 17'.

The actress shared a photo with her mother Vandana Lokhande on Instagram. In this, both mother and daughter are wearing sarees. Ankita is wearing a red saree and her mother is wearing a beige saree. It can be seen in the photo that both are also wearing a lot of jewelry.

Ankita wrote in the caption of the photo, “Aai, this feels really special. I remember how many sacrifices and challenges you faced to bring a smile on my face in difficult times. The way you guided me has always made me stronger than ever. On this Guru Purnima, I have immense love for my first guru who made me what I am today.”

Ankita was seen in 'Swatantryaveer Savarkar'

She further added, “I am deeply grateful to have the best Aai and Guru at the same time. Happy Guru Purnima.” Ankita was recently seen in Randeep Hooda starrer biopic 'Swatantryaveer Savarkar'. In the film, she played the role of V.D. Savarkar's wife Yamunabai. The film did not perform well at the box office.
