In view of the Kanwar Yatra in Sawan, the Urban Development Department has instructed all urban bodies to make special deployment of cleaning staff at Shivalayas and on the Kanwar Yatra route. The Principal Secretary of the Department, Amrit Abhijat, has instructed that bleaching powder, malathion dust and lime should be sprayed regularly in the Kanwar Yatra route area. Anti-larva spraying and fogging should be done in the camp areas.

Amrit Abhijat has instructed all urban bodies that garbage should not be allowed to remain around after cleaning so that Kanwadis do not face any inconvenience.

He has said that arrangements for cleaning and sanitizing community toilets twice a day should be made mandatory.

He has instructed that there should be adequate arrangements for drinking water on the Kanwar Yatra route and camping areas. Arrangements for water tankers and drinking water stalls should be made.

Efforts should be made to make Kanwar Yatra a zero plastic event. With public cooperation, proper arrangements should be made for the night stay of the devotees. Destitute cows will be kept in cow shelters.
