Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting with the heads of various security and law enforcement agencies on Friday (July 19). In this meeting, the review of the functioning of the Multi Agency Center (MAC) of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), responsible for dealing with the security challenges of the country, was discussed. Amit Shah chaired this meeting.
During the meeting, Amit Shah said that the Prime Minister Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the MAC framework is set to implement major technical and operational reforms to enhance its reach and effectiveness. At the same time, the Union Home Minister emphasized on greater synergy among all agencies to eliminate terrorist networks and their supporting eco-systems to deal with the emerging security threat scenario in the country.
'We must continue to work 24X7 as a platform'
The Home Minister emphasized that MAC should continue to function 24X7 as a platform for sharing pro-active and real time actionable information among various stakeholders including last responders.
'Form a team of young, technically skilled and enthusiastic officers'
Amit Shah emphasized on forming a team of young, technically skilled and dynamic officers from all agencies involved in national security to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem by using Big Data and AI/ML driven analytics and technological advancements.
'We must always remain one step ahead'
He said that in view of the new and emerging security challenges, we always have to be one step ahead in our response. The Home Minister directed the heads of various security agencies, including intelligence and enforcement agencies across the country, to adopt a 'Whole of the Government' approach towards national security.
