Los Angeles, July 19 (Tezzbuzz). American comedian Bob Newhart died at the age of 94. He breathed his last at his home here on Thursday. His public relations officer Jerry Digney has confirmed this.

Bob Newhart burst onto the comedy scene in 1960 as a stuttering everyman character, The New York Times reports, citing Jerry Digney. He appeared in two of television's most memorable sitcoms during his long career. His comedy album The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart won the top prize at the 1961 Grammy Awards.
