After the Ambani group, now the Adani group is also preparing to enter the IPL. Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners is set to sell its stake in Gujarat Titans. Discussions are going on with Adani Group and Torrent Group in this regard. So now the two giants of the industry will face each other on the cricket field.
The Ambani and Adani groups are the leading industrial conglomerates in the country. Interestingly, these two groups are always discussed. However, now both Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani will clash with each other. Now you must be wondering what exactly is going to happen between these two. In which both of them will come face to face.
Will buy a large share of 'this' team
According to reports, Adani Group is going to buy the stake of Gujarat Titans team in IPL. Meanwhile, the Ambani group is already in the IPL with the ownership of the Mumbai Indians team. So now if the Gujarat Titans share purchase deal is completed, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani will face each other directly.
How long will the contract be?
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has barred new IPL teams from selling their stakes till February 2025. Therefore, the agreement is being expressed after the ban is lifted in February 2025. The three-year-old Gujarat Titans franchise is said to be worth between $1 billion and $1.5 billion. In 2021, CVC Capital Partners bought the franchise for Rs 5,625 crore ($745 million).
After missing out on an opportunity to buy the Gujarat Titans team in 2021, Adani and Torrent Group are trying to buy a major stake in Gujarat Titans. On the other hand, CVC also wants to sell its stake after making profit. However, official information about this has not been given by these three. Meanwhile, CVC is a major investment company in the sports sector.
Gujarat Titans-Nita Ambani 'Enemies'?
After entering the IPL, Gujarat Titans handed over the leadership of the team to Hardik Pandya. Earlier, Hardik Pandya was playing for Mumbai Indians. Under the leadership of Pandya, Gujarat Titans won the title in the very first season. Following this, Nita Ambani-owned Mumbai Indians recalled Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans and handed over the captaincy of Mumbai Indians. Now Adani Group has joined the race to buy the same team.
