A massive fire has been reported in a container cargo merchant ship about 102 nautical miles southwest of Goa. Officials said that the ship was going from Mundra port in Gujarat to Colombo, Sri Lanka. As soon as the incident was reported, the Indian Coast Guard took immediate action and asked the rescue ships (ICG) to reach for help. Along with this, ICG Dornier aircraft have also been landed to monitor the situation of the incident.
There is a fire in the front part of the ship
It is being told that the ship was carrying international marine dangerous goods (IMDG) and there is a report of an explosion in its front part. Officials said that the ship has reached the spot for rescue and efforts are being made to extinguish the fire despite bad weather. Officials said that the crew of the ship that met with the accident has been talked to and they have been assured of safety. Also, two ICG ships have been dispatched from Goa to enhance additional fire fighting efforts.

At the same time, it can be seen in another video that efforts are being made to extinguish the fire with the help of another ship. Information about this incident is also being collected through planes. It can be seen in the video that the fire is limited to the front part of the ship. However, goods are seen loaded on the entire ship. Officials said that rescue operations are going on and the cause of the fire is also being ascertained.
