Finance Minister Sitharaman announced financial assistance to Bihar. The Finance Minister said that we will promote industrial development in Gaya, Bihar. This will accelerate the development of the eastern region. We will also cooperate in the development of road connectivity projects. Patna-Purnia Expressway, Buxar-Bhagalpur Highway, Bodhgaya-Rajgir-Vaishali-Darbhanga and an additional two-lane bridge will be constructed on the Ganga River in Buxar at a cost of Rs 26,000 crore.
A provision of Rs 3 lakh crore has been made for schemes benefiting women and girls. More than 100 branches of India Post Payment Bank will be set up in the Northeast region. Polavaram irrigation project will be completed to ensure food security of the nation. Funds will be provided for development in Kopparthi area in the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor and Orvakal area in the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.
The Union Budget 2024-25 proposes to amend the Model Skill Loan Scheme to help 25,000 students every year. E-vouchers for loans up to Rs 10 lakh for higher education in domestic institutions will be given to 1 lakh students every year for an annual interest rebate of 3% of the loan amount directly.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, 'The growth of India's economy continues to be excellent. India's inflation remains stable, which is towards the target of 4%. There is an effort to focus on major sections like the poor, youth, women, farmers. Continuous attention is being paid to employment, skills, MSME, middle class.' She said that there is a budget of Rs 2 lakh crore for 5 schemes related to employment and skill training.
