The situation there has improved in the last 24 hours.” It is also worth noting that recently the ICC had called a meeting in Colombo, in which the issue of Women’s T20 World Cup has not been raised at the moment. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has taken cognizance of the situation.
What is the reason of riots in Bangladesh?
Actually, there is a provision of 30 percent reservation in government jobs for the families of soldiers who fought in the 1971 freedom struggle. Due to this opposition to reservation, Bangladesh has become a victim of riots. It is being told that more than 100 people have lost their lives so far due to the violence, internet services have been shut down and major educational institutions across the country are currently locked.
When will the World Cup take place?
The Women’s T20 World Cup will be played in Bangladesh from October 3 to October 20. Apart from host Bangladesh, a total of 10 teams including India, England and Australia will participate in this event, which have been divided into 2 groups. India is present in Group A. The top 2 teams of their respective groups will enter the semi-finals and the final of the tournament will be played on October 20.
