The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has issued an order lifting the ban on government employees attending programs of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The central government has amended the orders issued by the then governments in 1966, 1970 and 1980, which prohibited government employees from joining the RSS branch and its other activities. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has welcomed this decision of Modi government.
“Govt's decision welcome”: RSS
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh All India Campaign President Sunil Ambekar said on the government's decision, “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has been continuously engaged in the reconstruction of the nation and service to the society for the last 99 years. Various leaderships of the country have also appreciated the role of the Union over time due to its contribution to national security, unity-integrity and natural calamities in times of society. Ambekar further said, “Due to its political interests, the then government unjustifiably barred government employees from participating in the activities of a constructive organization like the Sangh. The current decision of the government is right and will strengthen the democratic system of India. is.”
On this decision, Tezzbuzz BJP president VD Sharma said, “This is a welcome step for the country and Congress has always been doing politics of appeasement. RSS is the largest cultural and social organization in the world, which has always made sacrifices for the country. And sacrificed and played my role …”
The opposition raised questions on the government's decision
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge posted on X about this decision of the government. Mallikarjun Khadge posted and wrote that India adopted its national flag on this day in 1947. The RSS opposed the tricolor and Sardar Patel warned them against it. After Gandhi's assassination on 4 February 1948, Sardar Patel banned the RSS. After 58 years, Modi has lifted the 1966 ban on government employees from participating in RSS activities. We know that in the last 10 years BJP has used RSS to take over all constitutional and autonomous bodies institutionally. Modiji wants to remove the ban on government employees from participating in RSS activities and divide the employees of government offices on the basis of ideology.
What Gaurav Gogoi Said…
On the other hand, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said on this decision, “I think this is a juggling act between RSS and BJP. Today the BJP government is taking such a decision to end Mohan Bhagwat's anger over his comments a few days ago. The plight of UPSC and NTA today is because RSS people are entering every department of the government.
“What will the rest of the NDA organizations say about this”: Owaisi
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said in this matter that see, after Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Nehru governments banned RSS. RSS itself says that it does not accept India's diversity. If it talks about Hindu nation then it is against Indian constitution. I believe that such a cultural institution should not be given a permit. There are many cultural organizations who believe in communist ideology, will they be allowed too? He will have to tell himself whether he accepts this decision.
“Decision is unfair, withdraw immediately”: Mayawati
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has questioned the government employees' decision. BSP chief Mayawati has written on the social media platform that the tension that has increased between the two after the Lok Sabha elections due to arrogant attitude etc. should be removed. Government servants are required to work impartially and for public interest and welfare within the ambit of the constitution and law, whereas the activities of the RSS which have been banned many times are not only political but also electoral for a particular party. In such a situation this decision is inappropriate, it should be withdrawn immediately.
