The controversy surrounding the controversial IAS trainee Pooja Khedkar from Maharashtra has opened the door to using a disability certificate for the country's most prestigious jobs (IAS/IPS). The Gujarat government has initiated an inquiry at its level against four IAS officers of the state. All these Gujarat cadre officers have achieved IAS quota through disability certificate. It includes three junior and one senior level officer.
After the Pooja Khedkar controversy, the Gujarat government is being very cautious in this matter. It is said that the chief minister's office has instructed not to raise any doubts in the inquiry launched by the government's general administration department. These four officers were shortlisted after preliminary investigation. Now their disability certificates are being verified.
Certificate previously issued, currently valid
It is said that the IAS officer was selected on the basis of disability certificate, but during the investigation it was found that the officer does not currently have any disability. However, a senior officer said, it is also possible that the officer concerned was suffering from a disability when he joined the service, which got cured over time, but the truth will be known only after a thorough investigation.
The report will be submitted to UPSC
The government is checking the disability certificates of these officials. If the certificates of these officers are found to be fake during the investigation by the General Administration Department, the government will report the same to the UPSC. After this further action will be taken. Pooja left Washim, said – I will come again. After a letter from Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy, Mussoorie, the training of peak trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar was stopped in Washim. He left Washim for his home. She said, I will come back to Washim soon. Pooja, who is facing charges of becoming an IAS by submitting a fake disability certificate, has been ordered to appear at the academy by July 23.
