While presenting the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli made public for the first time the seven-point agreement with the ruling ally Nepali Congress. According to this, Oli will hold the post of Prime Minister for two years and after that the Nepali Congress will lead the government.
As soon as the special session of the House of Representatives began, Prime Minister and CPN (UML) President Oli presented the no-confidence motion. During this, Oli made public for the first time the agreement with the Nepali Congress to form the government. According to this, Oli will hold the post of Prime Minister for the remaining two years of the Parliament's term. After this, the post of Prime Minister will remain with the Nepali Congress for the remaining term. Regarding the state governments, it is written in the agreement that there will be a government led by the Nepali Congress in three states and CPN (UML) in three states, while one state will be given to the Madhesi party.
The seven-point agreement talks about protecting national interest, establishing good governance by controlling corruption, accelerating the work of nation building and including other parties in the government for political stability. Oli told the Parliament that the Constitution will be amended to overcome practical difficulties while establishing national consensus. The Prime Minister said that the weak points of the Constitution will be studied and amended.
It is noteworthy that the Oli government won the trust vote in the lower house of the Parliament, the House of Representatives. 188 members voted in favor of the Oli government and 74 against it. 263 members were present during the voting on the trust vote proposal in the 275-member House of Representatives.
