Bridge collapsed: Heavy rains are wreaking havoc in China. 11 people died in a bridge collapse on Friday night. According to news agency Xinhua, the bridge collapsed in northern China's Shaanxi province at around 8.40 pm on Friday night. By Saturday morning, five vehicles had been pulled out in the rescue operation. The search for the remaining people is ongoing.
Officials are currently engaged in rescue and relief work. Heavy rains have been lashing large areas of northern and central China since Tuesday, causing floods and widespread damage. 11 people died when a bridge collapsed following heavy rains in northern China.
According to media reports, rescue operations have been going on since Saturday morning, so far five vehicles have been pulled out of the water. Pictures on state television showed half of the bridge collapsed with a river flowing over it.
At least five people were killed and eight others missing after rain triggered floods and landslides in Shaanxi's Baoji city, state media reported yesterday. Heavy rains have been lashing northern and central China since Tuesday, causing floods and widespread damage. Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media.
