Jaipur. Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday said the Government of India is determined to encourage women entrepreneurs. Launching the “Yashaswini” campaign launched by the MSME Ministry here, the Union Minister said Yashaswini means successful, proud and talented woman. He said the Prime Minister's aim is to make India a developed India by 2047, for which it is necessary to promote micro, small and medium industries and women should have an important role in these industries.
Manjhi said that recently the Government of India has decided to give loans up to Rs. 25 lakh to women with disabilities up to 80 percent. Claiming that women have a major contribution in the country's economy, he said that they can promote self-employment by setting up micro, small and medium industries. Emphasizing on women empowerment, the Union Minister said that today women are moving ahead in every field including space, army, politics, science, there is a need for the society to encourage them more.
Addressing the program, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shobha Karandlaje said that under the campaign, women will be provided training in various fields including agriculture, food processing and they will be linked to financial institutions to set up industries. On this occasion, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department of Rajasthan Government, K K Vishnoi said that this campaign will provide women an opportunity to come forward in the field of entrepreneurship. Additional Secretary of Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr Rajneesh said that soon a 'Technology Park' will be developed here at a cost of Rs 150 crore. He said that four crore 70 lakh MSME industries are registered in which 20 to 30 percent are women entrepreneurs and the target is to take it to 50 percent.
