New Delhi: In a tragic incident near Gangavati railway station in Karnataka's Koppal district, three young men lost their lives after being run over by a passenger train while sleeping on the tracks. The incident, which occurred late last night, has shocked the local community and prompted an investigation by railway authorities.
Victims identified and background revealed
The deceased have been identified as Maunesha Srinivasa Bail Pattara (23), Sunil Thimmanna (23), and Venkata Bhimaraya (20). Maunesha hailed from the Killa area of Gangavati, while Sunil and Venkata were residents of Gouramma camp in Annur and Hirejantakal area respectively.
Tragic sequence of events
According to police reports, the three youths had attended a dinner party and were returning home when the unfortunate incident occurred. It is suspected that they had consumed alcohol and chose to rest on the railway track, unaware of the approaching danger.
