Juggun Kazim recently appeared on FHM’s podcast, hosted by Adnan Faisal, where she bravely opened up about her past abusive marriage.
Juggun Kazim tied the knot with her first husband, Ahmed Tajik, in December 2004.
They met at a friend’s wedding.
However, Juggun’s marriage was plagued by domestic violence.
After enduring a year and a half of the abusive relationship, Juggun made the courageous decision to leave, taking their two-month-old baby.
Reflecting on her experience, she revealed that she endured physical abuse and torture during her short marriage.
Juggun Kazim shared that she married her first husband within a week of developing affection for him.
However, the third week of their marriage marked the beginning of the abusive behaviour.
Speaking candidly, Juggun Kazim emphasised the importance of not ignoring the warning signs in a relationship.
She acknowledged that it often starts with abusive words.
Juggun urged others to make the decision to leave when faced with the first instance of physical violence.
The actress acknowledged her own mistake, admitting that she made the choice to marry secretly without informing her parents.
This was solely because her first husband was physically attractive.
She explained: “The first warning signs should never be ignored.
“It all starts with the abusive words. You need to make a decision when he first raises his hand on you, I could make a decision but I was a fool.
“It was my fault that I made this choice, I got married secretly and told my parents because he was too good-looking.
“I know it was my fault.
“When Noor Mukadam‘s case went viral, all my family used to discuss it.
“I didn’t open up about it because I didn’t want to go viral but it was a terrible time for me.
“When I was in marriage, I used to think I would be treated in the same way, what later happened to Noor Mukadam.
“I was seven months pregnant when he abused me and threw me out of the house in torn clothes.”
“May Allah be good to those neighbours who covered me up later.
“Now, that time has gone, Hamza is all grown up, that time has gone. Alhamdulillah, Hamza is raised by Faisal [Naqvi]. He is Hamza’s Baba, Allah has been kind”.
She expressed gratitude for the positive changes in her life. Her advice and honest statements were appreciated by the public.
One person commented: “Domestic violence should be stopped at the first abuse.”
Another said: “She speaks genuinely and she is never biased.”
One wrote: “Kids should be proud of their mothers.”
