A new tourism policy has been formulated to promote tourism. Through this new tourism policy, investment of approximately 1 lakh crores and 18 lakh jobs will be created in the state. This information was given by the state tourism minister Girish Mahajan.
There are many tourist places in the state of Maharashtra. There are abundant means of communication so that tourism can create employment and a new tourism policy has been formulated to promote tourism. Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan informed about this new tourism policy and said, through the new tourism policy, investment of approximately 1 lakh crores and 18 lakh jobs will be created in the state. It aims to double the flow of tourists in ten years by developing tourist spots and infrastructure.
Some of the key points of the policy stated by Minister Girish Mahajan
- Attracting tourists from the country and state, alternatively promoting trade- income and entrepreneurship, creating employment opportunities in rural and urban areas in the tourism sector.
- Bringing new investment in the tourism sector, increasing the revenue of the state, taking into account the diverse, multi-provincial, multilingual culture of the state, using local folk culture-based programs and festivals for the development of tourism.
- The strategy will focus on enhancing innovation, productivity and competitiveness through the use of digital technologies.
- Creating an enabling environment for private sector investment including the institutionalization of a single window system. To be affiliated with Maitri system of Central Govt.
Incentive Fund
Incentive funds for tourism will also be provided by the government. This incentive fund will be from 50 thousand to 15 lakh rupees. This fund will be provided by the government for women entrepreneurs, youth tourism, skill development programs, revival of rare arts, culture and cuisine, innovative products/services, employment for disabled etc.
Tourism competitions and awards
The main objective of this policy is to provide direct and indirect employment through tourism in rural and urban areas. For this, it has been decided to give various awards in order to develop sustainable and responsible tourism of the highest quality in the state and give scope to tourism and agricultural tourism in rural areas. For tourism industries in rural areas, home stay, agro tourism competitions will be conducted department wise. This policy will make the state among the leading states in the country.
