Lucknow. Before the beginning of the holy month of Shravan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a big step for Shiva devotees. The name and identity of the operators and owners will have to be disclosed at food and drink shops on the Kanwar routes anywhere in the state. This decision has been taken to maintain the purity of the faith of Kanwar pilgrims. Apart from this, strict action will be taken against those selling products with Halal certification.
According to the government spokesperson, name plates will have to be installed on food shops on Kanwar routes. The name plate will have the name of the shop operator and its owner. The government has taken this step to maintain the purity of the faith of Kanwar pilgrims. Along with this, products with Halal certification will not be sold in Uttar Pradesh. Strict action will be taken against those selling such products.
Many times the police was receiving complaints that some people are doing business by hiding their religion. For example, they are running restaurants and other food shops. They have also put up pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses on their shops. During the Kanwar Yatra, Shiv bhakts are afraid that they may be served meat at such shops by keeping them in the dark. Therefore, such people should write their names in front of their shops so that Shiv bhakts go to those shops where they are sure of cleanliness and purity. Chief Minister Adityanath has taken this step after understanding the problem of Shiv bhakts.
On the other hand, Samajwadi Party's national president Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party's president Mayawati have strongly opposed this decision. Akhilesh alleged that BJP is the enemy of social harmony and it keeps finding some excuse to spoil the brotherhood of the society. Due to these divisive policies of BJP, the social environment of the state is getting polluted. Akhilesh said that both the policy and intention of BJP are divisive, which the public has understood.
BSP President Mayawati has called this decision unconstitutional. Mayawati said in an X post that the order of the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments to the traders on the Kanwar Yatra route to prominently write the full name of the owner and staff on their shops and to ban the sale of meat is completely unconstitutional. The attempt to economically boycott people of a particular religion in this manner is highly condemnable.
