Prayagraj. Allahabad High Court has granted conditional bail to MLA Rafiq Ansari in a criminal case registered at Nauchandi Police Station and Civil Lines Police Station, Meerut.
While revealing 13 criminal cases, he said that the government has decided to withdraw the case registered in Nauchandi. The government's application under Section 321 of the Criminal Procedure Code is pending in the court. In the Civil Lines case, the petitioner says that four co-accused have been granted bail and the petitioner has no role in committing the crime. Therefore, he demanded to release both of them on bail and said that he will fully cooperate in the trial.
On which the court has granted conditional bail in both the cases and ordered his release. This order has been given by Justice Rajiv Mishra while accepting the application of Rafiq Ansari.
Senior advocate Sagir Ahmed argued on the petition. He said that there is a case of FIR from both the sides. 25-30 accused have been made from one side and 10-15 accused from the other side. Accepting the protest on the police report, the court has decided to conduct the trial. The petitioner has been in jail since 27 May 24.
In the second case, 22 accused were named. The court acquitted all of them. After that, the police filed a supplementary chargesheet in which the petitioner was named. But the government itself has filed an application for withdrawal of the case. The government does not have evidence, so bail should be granted.
