- Census figures for the year 2023 have been released

Last year's census figures have been released in Pakistan. Accordingly, the number of Hindus in Pakistan which was 35 lakh in the year 2017 has increased to 38 lakh. The Hindu community is becoming the largest minority community in Pakistan.
As reported by Dawn newspaper, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has released the figures of the seventh census conducted in the year 2023. According to the census, the country has a total population of 24 crore 4 lakh 58 thousand 89. Statistics say that the Muslim population in the country was 96.47 percent in the year 2017, but it has decreased to 96.35 percent in the year 2023. In that period, the population of all major minority communities has increased in the last six years.
In the year 2017, the number of Hindu community increased from 35 lakh to 38 lakh in 2023. But their share in the total population has decreased from 1.73 percent to 1.61 percent. In other words, the rate of population growth of other minority communities remained high. The population of Christians in the country has also increased from 26 lakh to 33 lakh. Their share in the total population has also increased from 1.27 percent to 1.37 percent.
Both the Ahmadiyya population and their share in the total population have declined. In the year 2017, their population was 191,737 which has decreased to 1,62,684 in the year 2017. The population of the Sikh community in Pakistan is 15,998 and the population of the Parsi community is 2348.
